I got barreled! by Mark 'poker_in_pb' Vargas, Thu. 8 Oct 2009
I finally got certified for the full barrel at the wavehouse and after yesterday's 2 hour session, I can now get in and out about half the time. It's really better than drugs. I had another horrendous day on Tuesday for the Super Tuesday sats. I do well at all the other levels, so I'm still 99% sure that it's just a sample size problem, but there's a small doubt that I'm getting outplayed creeping into my head. It's definitely not fun to grind all week with the low stakes and then blow the winnings every Tuesday. Last night (Wednesday) I only got in 3 hours since my sister called up and wanted us to come over for dinner. I left in such a hurry that I didn't even run my numbers to see how I did. It was such a small session and I think I ran about average to break even. When I play so few games, I usually don't run my numbers until the next time I play. It takes about 15-20 minutes to do it, so no reason to do it after playing only a couple hours. I also put a logo of my website on my 2+2 avatar (bumpking), but they just took it down. I figured it was probably against the rules, but I read everything on the avatar page and then I saw that "ImWeakTight@UCLA" had it in his avatar. No big deal though. I'm going to a bachelor party in San Francisco this weekend with 8 guys from San Diego and the rest from the Bay Area. Should be a good time as we've got flag football and soccer games set up for the daytime activity on Sat. I hope my knee holds up! I think I'm going to go nerd-style and take my computer so that I have the chance to play Sunday morning before everyone awakes from their drunken stuper. I got a fully refundable SWA ticket for the Sunday return, so I can stay longer or leave whenever I want if I do decide to play poker. I told myself before the NFL season started that I would be a good boy and play every Sunday, even when the boys are getting together to watch the games. Sundays are just too profitable to get drunk and watch TV. Since this is a bachelor party though, I might have to bend the rules, we'll see! Have some fun and spend some of that poker money today, -PinPB
