A good Tuesday by Mark 'poker_in_pb' Vargas, Wed. 21 Oct 2009
I had a rare winning session for the Super Tuesday sats. My adjusted numbers were flat, which I'll take at this point. There are more and more regs in these things and they're making fewer and fewer mistakes. Since I have such a small sample size at them, it's hard to determine what my true ROI should be. For the added variance, part of me thinks it's not worth the extra $1-2/SNG that they generate. Speaking of which, I'm in the process of writing yet another 2+2 post about table selection, variance, etc. Just when you think it's very important, you realize it's EXTREMELY important and should dominate your time! I'll provide a link if and when I ever post it (or just paste it here perhaps). I also played a few Steps. I used all my Step 6 tickets for the WCOOP last month, but I've got quite a few Step 5's now and will probably set aside some time in a couple weeks to start playing them on a more serious level. We leave for Hawaii next week, so I don't want to mix up my play until after we return. I'm going to see the Lebron James movie tonight with my sis and dad. He's my 2nd favorite player, next to Shaq. I know, I know, total bandwagoner, but his game is ridiculously fun to watch and he seems about as level headed as one can get when in his unique position. Should be a decent movie according to the reviews. I'm also going to take my real surfboard down to the wavehouse today to make sure I actually paddle out into the ocean. I'm meeting a surfing buddy of mine on Friday and haven't really surfed since before WCOOP due to all the wavehouse sessions. I tried to talk him into trying the wavehouse, but alot of surfers don't give it any respect. Kinda like how boogie boarding is to surfing, roller blading is to skating, etc. May the cards run hot! -PinPB
